Old Ways and New Ways
This picture book is about a little American-born Chinese girl from Texas who goes to China to visit her great aunt, whom she’s never seen before. She discovers that she and her aunt do things differently, like greeting people and giving or receiving gifts. While she is there, she has a hard time adjusting to her aunt’s different food. Eventually, they learn from each other through their interactions. It is simple reading with beautiful illustrations that kindergartners to third graders will enjoy.
