I have written four books, based on my childhood, which are set in a small town in southeastern China during the 1940s.  My childhood series follows Ying Yeung (me), an elementary-age girl living with her beloved grandmother - Ah Pau, her aunt and uncle, and their son and daughter.  Ying, whom one reviewer dubbed a kind of Chinese Ramona, is basically well-principled, but she sometimes gets into mischief and has many interesting adventures with her cousin, Kee, and her best friend, Ah Mei. In 2004 and 2005, my own Chinese translations of all four books were published in Hong Kong in English/Chinese bilingual versions.
Moon Festival is a picture book about the popular Chinese festival which is celebrated in the fall by Chinese around the world.
My latest book is Tofu Quilt, a free-verse poetry book about how I became a writer.  It is set in China and Hong Kong.
